Turn left from the W.I. Hall and keep on the right hand side of the road taking a track on the right just before the Council Yard to go through Cliff Rigg Quarries. Cross the railway and at sharp right hand bend go left under trees, keeping quarry on the right, ignore path going left. On emerging from the wood at stile, carry straight on. At house, go straight ahead down metalled track. At Airy Holme Farm turn left and follow metalled track keeping fence on right, through rough pastures and 2 farm gates. At path junction (Cleveland Way National Trust sign), turn right and follow Cleveland Way and forest tracks to M.R. 634143. Follow signs Langbaurgh Loop on to open moor to Quaker Causeway path picking up road at Brown Hill and follow to White Cross. Then take left hand track to Robin Hood's Butts to M.R. 713115 and on to Danby Beacon. Follow rough track to Stonegate. Follow fence towards Lealholm Hall, Keeping stone wall on left. Go through on left and in 100 yds. approx. see concealed stile in hedge on right. Pick up stone track to Hall Park Farm, turn right opposite house, down hill, crossing Paddy Waddell's railway, over foot bridge to Thorn Hill Farm. Follow farm track and. road to Westonby Farm. Pick up flagged causeway over field to Church Cliff and cemetry. Follow road towards Egton, taking footpath over fields and through Spring Wood to Egton Bridge. Follow old toll road to Grosmont. Cross level crossing, up hill and take path on right through woods, picking up road to Dale End Farm. Round back of farm to Birch House coming out onto hard track following the Whinstone Ridge up to Sil Howe. Follow track to York Cross, then track and path to Pike Hill (disused Quarries), follow path to John Bond Sheephouse, cross moor by paths to M.R. 916029 (Scarborough/Whitby Rd). Take path to Brow Top and follow down road to finish at Fylingthorpe Village Hall.
