Continue past amusement arcades. Just before Hodgkinson Hotel TR (Waterloo Road). TL in 39 yds. Ahead over first road continue on stone path. TL at West Lodge pass post box. TR in 40 yds at end of handrail FP 11 keep to main path to emerge at FP sign Bonsall. FR through gate ahead on track to church. TR to village cross. TL down Yeoman Street. In 20 yds TR up alleyway. FR up steps on concrete path between stone walls through slip stile to 2nd slip stile to walled path to Upper Town. Over staggered junction to road bend.

On FP over walled track cross fields to ridge diagonally down hill (CB 330) to pass 30 yds to left of gate posts to field corner and stile. Through scrub to stile TR follow path through gap in wall through stile keep wall on left through two gates to descent into Dale Bottom. TL past cottages. Just before wooden gate TR through stile to RD. TR in 30 yds cross RD through stile to 2 trees on skyline keeping fence on R. At top you can seed a stone arch, this is your next target. Downhill between trees and ponds to bottom gain track to arch.

Retrace steps for 10 yds to leave arch on distinct path through trees in westerly direction - path becomes more distinct the more you proceed. Continue on path to cross stile into field to leave field through slip stile onto enclosed track. TL and continue to Uppertown Farm. TL in 15 yds. TR keep hedge on L pass cottage on R and ruined barn on R. At junction of tracks ½ L down hill to stile and RD. Cross with care. TL in 50 yds. TR up track to pass between Robin Hood's Stride. Ahead on well used path to Harthill Moor Farm. Down farm drive round to L of farm. Following well used path to Youlgrave. (Use church as a guide). On reaching houses TL on RD to

Continue along RD for 100yds. TL over stile at side of gate to Mawstone Farm. Ahead south to L of farm. At top TL through gate and follow track to corner of wood - gate/FP sign - do not go through gate but TR with wall on L. Through gate cross field (CB 160). Ahead on same bearing over tree lined avenue and stile. Ahead with wall on R follow FP same direction towards Elton emerging on RD after going round Anthony Hill Quarry. TR down RD. In 80 yds TL (self clip - 218 613) to church opposite pub. TL along RD passing YHA; After leaving village TR (Limestone Way). Follow track over x-track to RD. TL to JTN.

Take walled track opposite. In 150 yds TR at stile following FP to RD TL. 40 yds TR 170 degrees through stile. Follow FP as it swings 150 degrees to emerge on track. TR and in 50 yds cross stile on L. Continue over track ahead on same bearing as it descends into Via Gellia and RD. TL on RD (FAST TRAFFIC). Cross at beginning of layby (self clip - 265 565) and take faint path up through wood to emerge on RD through gap in stone wall (near gate). TL. Follow RD for just over h mile passing Nelsons Arms and school to Middleton Village Hall (hot and cold refreshments) 17.2 miles (CLOSES 3 PM).

Back onto RD. Continue-laver X-RDS under railway bridge. TL on FP to High Peak Trail. Down hill continue to Black Rocks car park (toilets).

Back on trail. At SP Cromford-Barrel Edge. Take backward R up wide scree track (wall on R). Keep to main track winding and climbing, up steps keep wood fence on R. Pass trig on R to stile over next field. Follow way mark to RD. TR downhill. In 60 yds at 2nd steps T. (path becomes tarmac). Continue to telephone box TL on BD at SP Wash Green.

Do not go over stile. Continue ahead to regain tarmac track to main RD . TR past Malt Shovel public house on R. Over junction before brow of hill TL down farm track, through stiles. Where wall on. R goes off at right angles ahead to find slip stile in wood opposite. Into wood over stream at other side. Follow path towards Crich. Over stile TR wall on R over next stile. TL wall on R fence on L. Follow edge of wood then ahead into wood. At other side keep wire fence on L. In 50 yds keep to main path to blue gate. TL through stile, ahead with wall on R heading for Crich Stand. Over stile to cottage FP to R of cottage overdrive on FP in 5 yds. TR downhill to bridge cross follow sign for_. Crich in 50 yds. TL on canal.

Cross RD over stile. On path to track. TR to RD.
