A 1st Right on leaving building and at T Junction go left towards Kendal passing Punch Bowl Pub. At cross tracks go right on a by-way to Brigsteer Road GR 470 919. Turn left on reaching the road, pass Broad Oak drive then left on the footpath to pass Rockyfield (house) now demolished. On reaching the lane turn left. After Tullithwaite House turn right onto footpath. Crossing Tanyard Beck. Go over the wall at the stile to a gate. SSE to stone building and onto the lane. Turn left and then right passing houses on your left. At wall corner turn left signed Kendal. Cross field to wood and follow way marks to Barrowfield Farm. Turn right on reaching lane and then left at the signpost. Keep the farm on your left, follow way marks to go uphill over field to wood. On entering wood turn right on lower track leading through wood into the shallow valley right to road, right and next left to Helsington Church.

A 2nd Helsington Church. Continue north on the lane to the main road. Turn right then left at kissing gate onto National Trust land. Follow the northbound path to gate. The path turns right into a shallow valley. Cross this and then left and north along Scout Scar Ridge. Pass Mushroom and descend to metal kissing gate and Underbarrow Road. Turn right on the road. At a car park take the path behind car park sign and join a lane near the barrier. GR 489 925. Go north through wood with radio mast on your left. At kissing gate go ahead with a wall on your left to wall corner and continue, down until a junction of tracks at Gamblesmire Lane. Cross this and at a wall corner go left. Continue with a wall on your left. After stile the ground dips, look for path on left, take this going downhill through, wood. Follow way marks into open field.
West now into Ash Spring Wood. On leaving wood ead south with a wall on your left. Cross the driveway into a field going downhill heading NW. After descent the path heads N. and hedge is on your left to a stile. Cross this and head north in next field keeping swamp on your right. Through two gates and as path meets fence, right at way mark and follow track to Fellgate Farm. Go between buildings and right with the farmhouse on your right. On leaving the farm to go left on a path to Bridleways (a house). Go left and fork right keeping Cappelrigg Farm on your left. Follow bridleway and turn left at next junction. Continue across ford and as track turns sharp left go ahead into field and head west. Cross the bridge over a brook and at the junction of tracks go ahead across field and then descend to gate and then left on old track to bottom south-west corner of field. Through gate and SSW across field to join track (Chapel Lane). At the road turn left and through metal gate on right into the churchyard. Follow the church path to main gate, go south for a short distance, turn left onto rough track before joining a mainer road. At The Barn (house) turn left until you reach the tarmac road. Turn left onto the road, report to the village hall.
B 1st Helsington church. Head west steeply down the fell to an electricity post at Kistwell. Take lower stony track downhill and into a field through field gate. Continue downhill to Park End Farm. Keep the farmhouse on your right and follow the marked route through the farmyard to the road. Straight across the road and head south to gate into Brigsteer Park Woods. Through woods keeping right at each fork. Leave woods. Ahead on the lane to pass Cinderbarrow Farm. At the road turn right, continue to the crossroads and right. After re-cycling site left up steps to church.

B 2nd Leave church, left on road past school, left at T juction, right at shop, pass post office, ignore two left turns. Near Heaves Farm go left on the field path, left at the junction of paths near Chapel Wood. Head N. keeping wall on your right. Keep the Sizergh Castle car park on your right. Follow track signed Heisington Church. After the first field continue ahead on the woodland track leaving farm track on your right. Leave the wood east of ieslack Farm. Turn left on this lane to reach check point at Helsington Church.

C From Levens Church continue to lych gate onto the road. Turn right and then left onto footpath crossing A590 on bridge. At Sampool Lane go left, and joining slip road turn right. At the road junction take the footpath on your right to go through wood. Join the main road near bus-stop, turn right to cross Levens Bridge. Cross A6 with caution to east side and join a farm lane at bus-stop. Follow this, heading east to High Barns. Keep the house on your left and take the stile to head over fields to Hincaster Hail, turn right over the hill to descend to road south of Hincaster. Turn left on road then turn into next road going right. Go under railway bridge and take next road left. Before A590 bridge go left over a stile on a path with the canal tunnel ahead. Take the path on left to go over the canal tunnel and under the railway and descend to cottages. Turn right before joining road keeping cottages on your left continue on line of an old canal until it becomes blocked by the A590 and join road and turn right. Continue to Levens Park entrance and go in. Follow the path to Levens -Bridge. Turn right on A6. Cross bridge and go north at the junction. At Lawrence House Farm take the lane on left to cross A590 by bridge and over fields to Levens, turning right on the road then left back to the church.
