Starting from the family centre head W towards North Cave staying on the right hand side. Pass the costcutter tuning right at the end of the houses onto a private farm track (bucket drop). Follow the track round picking up the public footpath for Everthorpe and checkpoint 1 from this head W in 100m turn Right then turn Left and head towards North Cave Follow the Rd over the old railway line towards North Cave. Before entering North Cave take the footpath to the right and travel N across the playing fields towards North Cave Church. Continue N past the church through Hotham Park, into Hotham on leaving the park follow the Rd straight across following it round left then right heading towards the Church and CP 2. Continue N on Denton Lane following the footpath Left and then right through Cliffdale Farm and into Houghton Woods. In Houghton woods at the path junction turn right heading E towards North Newbald continue straight across at Rd junction (Care Taken A1034) in North Newbald take first left onto Townside Rd and onto CP 3.
Follow the track N over the hill turning right at the rear of Sykes House Farm. Now heading NE through the Dale and 4 fields onto Gare Gate. Turn left at Gare Gate heading N at Rd/path Junction turn right (do not follow Rd) and head E to Newbald Lodge and CP 6. From CP 6 travel E join tarmac Rd into Bishop Burton at Rd junction turn Right follow Rd S for 1.5km turn left at Rd junction in 300m take footpath to the right into Walkington and CP 7 . On leaving CP 7 continue down to the main Rd (B1230) turn left towards the Dog & Duck P/H. Turn right up Kirk lane following the Rd round to the right for 400m then turn left travelling S past Halfpenny Gate Cottages and Risby Park Farm to Rd junction. Turn left at the Rd junction and in 300m turn Right follow the path towards Skidby. At Rd junction turn Left in 200m then turn Right onto Riplingham Rd here you will find CP8 (new). Now follow this Rd for 3.5km passing Westfield Farm before turning Left at Path/Junction just after overhead power lines. Continue SW to Rd/Junction at Rd turn left then right into York Grounds Farm and CP9. Continue SW for 1km and turn Right at Path/Junction heading W. At Rd junction continue straight across onto tarmac Rd still heading W in 300m as Rd turns Left continue straight on towards Brantingham. As the Hill descends into Brantingham take the footpath to the Right travelling NW towards Brantingham Church, CP10. At Rd junction turn Right passing Church heading N up the Dale. After 600m turn left at Path/Rd Junction. Heading W up the hill into Woodale. At Woodale Farm path/junction turn Right follow the path to Mount Airy Farm. At path/track junction turn Left through Mount Airy Farm and follow the Rd for 400m round to the Right and turn left at path/junction downhill into South Cave. Turn Left at Path/Rd onto Beverley Rd in 300m cross the Main Rd (A1034) continue down Church Street for 1km passing Cave Castle on your Right. Turn Right towards the church and back to the Family Centre for the finish.
